For those of you that may not know, Passageways is located inside the Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union main branch in West Lafayette, Indiana. We have recently moved from the main lobby area of the building into a custom built office space in the basement of the building. This is a very exciting time for us and we thought we would share some photos of the transition.

Changing the Island Skin Colors

*To access the island skins, you must have access to the portal server.

Locate the Passageways root folder (ex: DRIVE://inetpub/wwwroot/passageways/themes) on your portal server and go to the Themes folder within. You will notice within the Themes folder, each theme has a different name (ex: DRIVE://inetpub/wwwroot/passageways/themes/Summer). Inside each Theme folder is another folder titled, Skin.

Open the Theme you wish to modify and access the Skin folder within. Ten (10) small images (set to repeat within the portal) make up the island skins so you will only need to modify each tiny image.

*Although these instructions are using Photoshop to modify the skin colors, you can use any other editing program you wish.

1. Open Photoshop (or other editing software) and then open each skin file (ex: border_TopLeft.gif).
2. It works best to select the entire image (using the rectangular selection tool) and open a new Photoshop document.
3. Paste (Ctrl V \ Command V) the image into the new Photoshop document.
4. Save the new file using the same name as the .gif file. (ex: Border_TopLeft.gif should now be Border_TopLeft.psd). You can save at this point or wait until you are finished modifying this file. Save the file in the same Skin folder on your server or put into another folder.
5. Using the Magic Wand tool, select the color on the image.
6. Select a new color for your image.
7. Using the Paint Bucket or Gradient tool, add the new color to your image.
8. Save the file (as the same name as original).
9. Save for Web as a .gif file and make sure it is in the Skin folder on the appropriate theme.
