November and December are the last two months to participate in the Passageways Charitable initiative with the Auction Manager Module. Purchase the Auction Manager Module by "naming your own price" and help Passageways donate every dollar to charity.

PowWOW 2009 is closer than you think! Our conference has a new format this year with conference events all day on Wednesday April 29th and Thursday April 30th. After much anticipation, we are exploring a new optional post-conference training and possibly a certification event on Thursday evening and Friday, morning. Details on our new certification program will be available after an initial customer survey soon. Please be sure to participate in this survey and help us design an appropriate certification program.

PowWOW 2009 will be held at the Embassy Suites located in beautiful downtown Indianapolis. Did you know?
Would you like to view You Tube videos within your company portal? Well, you can! Do you know how?

1. From the YouTube website, pull up the video that you're wishing to upload.
2. To the right of the video, there will be two links. One that says "URL" and another that says "Embed".
3. Copy the "Embed" link.
4. In the portal, on the Rich Text Editor island, from the Actions tab, choose to Edit the content.
5. Select to edit the island in HTML. This button is located in the bottom left hand corner of the editor, and appears to be two arrows, or < >.
6. Paste the copied link into the editor in HTML mode.
7. Click OK.
8. This will embed the video into a rich text editor for viewing!!

New product release Bulletin - Announcements Module v3.4.0.0

Post Dating Announcements	You can now set a start date when adding a new group announcement.
Preview Announcements	A preview button has been added to the rich text editor so you can view what the announcement will look like before creating it.
View Expired Announcements	On the My Group Announcements Island you can now check the box to view expired announcements, which will show as gray text. You can also search for both current and expired announcements from the Group Announcements Island. You can view expired announcements from the Edit/Delete Announcements action page of the Group Announcements Island.
Read Receipt Announcements	When adding a new announcement you can now set whether to require a read receipt. On the My Group Announcements Island you will see orange text stating that a read receipt is required and to click the link to view the announcement. Once an announcement has been read the announcement text will display in the My Group Announcements Island. You can view the users that have and have not read an announcement that requires a read receipt by clicking the View Read Receipts icon on the Group Announcements Island. The View Read Receipts will display two lists one for users that have read the announcement and one for users that have not read the announcement. There is also a link to create an email to send to all users whom have not read the announcement.
Set Maximum Number of Announcements on Page	You can set the maximum number of announcements to show on each page of the Group Announcements Island from the action page.
Show Message and Attachments on My Group Announcements	The My Group Announcements Island now displays the attachment and the text of the announcement.
Include Full Text in Announcement Alert	There is now a check box to include announcement text in the alert on the Add Announcement action page.
Set Default Expiration Days	The default expiration days for announcements can now be set at the portal level. Previous number of days was 5 and this will be the default.
Multiple attachments on an Announcement	Multiple attachments can now be added to an announcement.
Images available in Announcement RTE	Images can now be included in the Announcement body. Adding images to Announcements - we "turned on" the image button in the Rich Text Editor and have allowed users to insert images from the Image Gallery. There remains a challenge as those images will not appear on mobile devices or in emails when the full announcement is sent out. This is a known issue and was deemed acceptable.

Is your portal running slowly all of the sudden? Are you getting SQL errors?

If so, your Passageways SQL log files could be getting too big.

Some examples of the error are:

• Timeout expired
• The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding
• The transaction log for database 'Passageways' is full

Are you running out of disk space on your portal server?

You can check the size of SQL log files by following the instructions below:

• SQL 2005
  1. Right click on database name — Properties
  2. Click on Files and from there you can look at the size of both the database and the log file.



• SQL2000
  1. Right click on database name — Properties
  2. Click on the Transaction Log tab to view the size
