Save the date for PowWOW 2009
Just a quick notice that the Passageways Annual Users Conference, PowWOW, has been slated for April 28-30th, 2009 in Downtown Indianapolis. There will be an email detailing this information as well as a link to register early coming soon. The early bird price will be set at $299 per person. Register before December 15th 2008 to receive the discounted pricing. After Dec. 15th the price will be $350 per person.

Passageways Welcomes Another New Employee
We are pleased to welcome another new member to the Passageways team. Preeti Rawat will join us as a Quality Services Analyst. Preeti will be the fifth new employee in 2 months for Passageways.

The Passageways Consulting Team Welcomes A New Member
After almost 3 years in Product Development at Passageways, Shaun Seale will be moving to Consulting Services. Shaun has been an integral member of Product Development at Passageways and we are looking forward to putting his expertise to good use in the Consulting Services department.
Auction Module Continues to be a Big Hit
16 customers, together with the Passageways team, have raised $11,425.50 for charity by purchasing the Auction Module. Many customers are using the module for internal charity fundraisers as well. Here is what a few of them are saying:

This Auction Manager Module consists of two islands and a “Module Administration Tool” that allows Financial Institutions to easily manage an auction inside the Passageways Portal Framework. The module is being offered as a “name your price” module, allowing organizations to choose how much they would like to “pay” for the application. Whatever price is chosen, that money is donated to the following four charities the Passageways’ employees selected:
- YWCA (local Lafayette/West Lafayette chapter)
- Children's Miracle Network
- American Heart Association
- American Cancer Society

Using Anchors in Rich Text Editor
If you create a Rich Text Editor island that contains a lengthy amount of content you may wish to create anchors to redirect your users. It is important to note; however, that you must create anchors a little differently when using the Rich Text Editor than in standard html. For example, if your anchor tag is #top, in html you would simply place the anchor tag top behind your text you wish to anchor.
In this situation, the Rich Text Editor is designed to auto-complete the URL to
http://passageways/Modules/Standard/Islands/PWRichTextEditor/Editcontent.aspx?ObjectID=#ReturnUrl=LayoutManagers%2fGridLayout%2fIslandOptions.aspx%3fPageID#top for example, and incorrectly direct users to the Actions Menu Edit mode of the island regardless of user permissions.
It is recommended that any links or anchors in the Rich Text Editor utilize full URLs.
Use the Rich Text Editor's Hyperlink Manager button located on the Rich Text Editor toolbar. Please see instructions below:
- Select the text that you wish to be your anchor.
- Click on the Hyperlink Manager button and select the Anchor tab.
- Type your anchor name (for example: if you wish to relocate your users back to the top of the page, you could use #top as your anchor name). Click OK.
- Select the text you wish to be your link to your anchor. (For example: "return to top").
- Obtain your full page URL: Right-click on the page link on the navigation tree and select "Copy Shortcut."
- Click on the Hyperlink Manager button. Select the Hyperlink tab.
- Paste the full page URL into the URL field.
- Select the Anchor tab and type the same anchor name (ex: #top). Click OK.
- Be sure to click OK at the bottom of your Rich Text Editor to save changes.
